Merge Codes for Personalization

Merge codes can be used to insert the following types of dynamic data:


  • Joined Data Source data
  • Miscellaneous Site, Mailing, List, and Campaign data


...in the following locations:


  • The HTML Body and Text Body of a Mailing (but not the Online Version)
  • The From Name, From Address, Reply To, and Subject of a Mailing (use with caution!)
  • Various messages on the Member Subscribe Page (those that are displayed after a Member has created his or her profile)


All Enterprise merge codes begin and end with two pound-symbol characters, such as:

##MergeCode##

There should never be any spaces or other extraneous characters between the ## pattern and the name of the merge code. Merge codes are never case-sensitive.


Profile Field data

To insert Member-specific profile field data, use the following syntax, replacing FieldName with the name of the profile field whose value you'd like to insert:

##FieldName##


Joined Data Source data

To insert data from a Joined Data Source, use the following syntax, replacing JoinedDataSource with the name of the Joined Data Source and FieldName with the name of the specific field within the Joined Data Source:

##JoinedDataSource.FieldName##

The following merge codes can be used in mailings and on your Member Subscribe Page:
